Who we are
Christ Church is a traditional Anglican church, committed to using the glorious riches of the Book of Common Prayer at our Sunday morning services but also soon planning to start a contemporary evening service. We are part of the wider parish or St Mary Abbott with Christ Church & St. Philip Kensington. At Christ Church, we strive to be true to our name – committed to the good news about Christ, concerned to love one another as Church, and compassionate to serve the people of Kensington. In doing so, we believe that by proclaiming God’s Word, depending on Him in prayer, and living lives shaped by His Word, we will be a force both for God’s glory and people’s good in West London.
How do we seek to serve Christ as a church in Kensington?
By reaching out to everyone in our local community with the good news about Christ. The Bible is clear that the Christian gospel is liberating and life-giving, revealing as it does God’s message of salvation through Christ’s death on the cross. We want to provide ways for everyone to hear this glorious gospel.
By building up one another to maturity in our relationship with God. The Word of God, as the means of growth, is therefore central in all our services and midweek small groups. We seek to discover more of God’s plan for the world, get to know Jesus better and prayerfully shape our lives in the light of God’s will.
By sending out boys and girls, men and women into the schools, colleges, neighbourhoods and workplaces around us encouraged and equipped to use their God-given gifts in His service. Training therefore is vital as we want to see people deployed to live and speak for Christ.
