Brian Elfick
Vicar
Brian has been the vicar of Christ Church since April 2022. Before that he led a church in inner-city Liverpool for ten years. He has previously worked for churches in Sydney, New York and Cambridge. He is married to Alice, a barrister, and they have three children: Lucy, Bear and Charlotte. Brian loves sport and has the unusual claim of having captained both universities in a varsity match.
Rich Powell
Curate
Rich has been at Christ Church since 2017 having spent 8 years serving in churches across the south of the UK. He is responsible for the student and small group ministry at Church. He spent three years training as an illustrator and still has a keen interest in the visual arts.
Sarah Tett
Churchwarden & Pastoral Worker
Sarah is churchwarden and involved with pastoral care at Christ Church. She trained in Natural Sciences and law and first moved to Kensington on her marriage to Richard, also a lawyer, in 1997. They have two children in their twenties. Sarah is currently company secretary for a charity and is involved in the life of the diocese in a governance capacity. When time permits she can be found enjoying a violin recital or two at the Wigmore Hall for recreation.
Ian Johnson
Churchwarden
Ian joined Christ Church in 2015 and after a brief spell as the Treasurer is now a churchwarden. He works in the City for a large Asset Management company and lives in Kensington with his wife, Fleur, and their three children: Sophia, Ivy-Rose, and Ottilie. Ian trained as a professional singer but is now much happier in the audience and can often be found sat watching one of his children performing ballet somewhere or another!
Breanna Monaghan
Pastoral Worker &
Overseer of Children’s Work
Breanna grew up in Birmingham and on the South coast but has called London home since 2013. She studied Biomedical Science at Imperial College and has worked at Christ Church since graduating in 2016. She is married to Michael, a doctor at Croydon Hospital, and they currently live in Battersea.
Roselle Fox
Ministry Support Coordinator
Roselle grew up in Cornwall, and after graduating in textiles from Bath, moved to London where she worked in fashion and interiors before working for Christ Church in 2021. She enjoys spending time with her friends, and a good day at the beach.
Sam Barber
Pastoral Worker & Director of Music
Sam joined Christ Church in September 2020, having previously held roles at St Helen’s Bishopsgate and the Royal Church of St Alfege, Greenwich. When not at Christ Church, Sam enjoys a varied freelance schedule, which among other things has recently taken him to the O2 Arena to play alongside Queen.
Pippa James
Ministry Trainee
Pippa has been part of the church family at Christ Church since 2017 and joined the team in 2022, having previously worked for a Christian charity. She studied languages at university and loves singing and baking.
Gabriel Chan
Ministry Trainee
Gabriel just graduated from Imperial College London studying biology and has been part of the church family since 2019. He is currently one of our ministry trainees and enjoys his free time with a bit of music and squash.
Tristan Bacon
Ministry Trainee
Tristan is one of our Ministry Trainees following three years working in the self-driving vehicle sector. Having grown up in Bristol, he studied Engineering at Durham University from 2014 but spent far more time behind the drum kit or on the squash court!
