11am Service

Our morning service follows the shape of a classic service of Morning Prayer or Holy Communion, with a full range of accompanying groups for 0–18s.

We use a variety of liturgy from the Bible and the Book of Common Prayer, and music is led by a professional choir accompanied by both organ and piano. We strive to make every aspect of the service unpretentious and accessible to all, even if you have never been to church before.

We meet as a wonderful mix of ages.  Early in the service we generally have a short talk for all ages to learn from, before children up to age 14 leave for various groups within the church building.

At the service’s heart is the reading and preaching of the Bible, thoughtfully and carefully applied to our lives. Every week the preacher provides optional talking points, so that people can take things further, and every few weeks we hold an informal question and answer session, for those who want it, after the service has ended.

The service lasts for an hour. Afterwards we serve tea and coffee and run informal games for children, so that parents are free to chat with others. After the service there is also a group for 15–18s to reflect on what they have heard. About once a month we serve lunch (£2.50) – you can sign up for that through the calendar.
