Welcome to London!
Below you’ll find all you need to know about the student year. We hope you’ll be able to join us one Sunday. Why not get in touch before you arrive, and we’ll try to link you up with a student at the same uni or doing a similar course, so you know someone before you even arrive.
It’s easy to find yourself in a student bubble while at uni – even when it comes to church. At Christ Church we seek to serve you with various student-specific groups midweek – but Sunday is where we all come together from different walks of life, ages, and nations. We gather together to pray for our world, to sing God’s praises and above all, to hear God speak as we look at his word together.
Most students join our 5pm family which gathers beforehand from 4:30pm for coffee and cake. There is food served after the service with an optional topic talk at 6:45pm.
We also have a traditional Anglican service at 11am.
Small group bible studies are the primary time we come together as a student family to catch up and encourage one another as we study God’s word together. They are a great way to get to know a smaller group of people really well. In 2021/22 we spent the year looking at John’s Gospel.
The first Wednesday of each month we gather as a church family to pray for our church and the world at our Church Prayer Meeting.
In the first term, we have a Student Focus morning where we spend time thinking about a key area of the Christian life. We also run shorter one-hour topical sessions throughout the year.

Our weekend away in the second term is an excellent opportunity to escape London together. We head to the country to relax, get to know one another better and above all – get to know God better.
Our 2023 weekend away is taking place 3-5 March. On our 2022 weekend away, Andrew Sach helped us think about what it means to be Church together.
Summer Days Away
At the end of the year once the studies and exams are over, there’s nothing better than to head away for a few days, to have some rest and down-time, while also listening to some encouraging bible talks or reading a Christian book that will refocus our minds on the gospel.
Our Lads Days and Girls Days away are exactly that!
The UCCF Christian Union (CU) is a group of students from different churches, uniting together to give coursemates and friends on campus the opportunity to hear and respond to the good news of Christ.
We share that same passion at Christ Church and so are keen to encourage our students to get stuck into the Christian Union, and our staff are often asked to speak at CU events.
There are also other Christian Societies that help support Christian students in a specific way, such as the Christian Medical Fellowship (CMF) and Overseas Christian Fellowship (OCF).
